Subject: Incorrect Metadata and Bibliographical Details
This work is not, as the heading and metadata suggest, the 1662 edition of the 2 volume _Rump: Or an Exact Collection of the Choycest Poems and Songs_,
...
but rather a copy of the Oxford type facsimile, published (according to various guesses) in 1874 or 1878. (Robarts Library does not possess a copy of the original edition).
The facsimile does reproduce, more or less accurately, the page-by-page contents of the original, but introduces a few silent "corrections," and one or two outright errors. Ornaments have been reproduced only approximately, direction lines have been omitted, line overruns regularized, and numerous other renditional features modified. While handy as a quick-and-dirty reference, this edition is _not_ textually trustworthy.
